Database: New Features for Administrators covers approximately 70% of the
exam topics. The training can be supplemented with self-study titles for Oracle8.0
to Oracle8i Upgrade Exam Prep.
Candidates wishing to prepare using only self-study materials will use two sets of titles: Oracle8.0 to Oracle8i Upgrade Exam Prep and Oracle9i New Features for Administrators Exam Prep.
The exam has been validated against Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Database 10g R2 and is compatible with both. Classroom training, practice and experience on either release is suitable preparation.

The 10g DBA OCP is a high-level intermediate certification geared towards IT personnel who hold titles such as database administrator, database analyst, and database developer.
Those certified at the Professional level can upgrade their credential by passing an upgrade exam, or by passing the 1Z0-042 DBA I and 1Z0-043 DBA II. Staying current is a smart way to maintain a competitive edge among your peers.
Single Release Upgrade Exams Generally, one exam is required for OCPs to upgrade to each subsequent version of an Oracle DBA track. For example, one exam upgrades the Oracle8i credential to Oracle9i and one exam from Oracle9i to Oracle 10g. Candidates wishing to skip a version can take the bridge exam (1Z0-045). The Oracle 10g Database Administrator Certified Professional may also be obtained by passing the DBA I and DBA II exams.

Submitting your Oracle OCP Hands-On Requirement Form The Hands-On Course Requirement Form is required for all NEW OCP candidates. (It is not required for those who are upgrading their existing DBA OCP credential from a previous version.) You must complete the Oracle University hands-on course requirement form before you will receive your certification credential.
Oracle 10g OCA

This Oracle certification is well suited to IT personnel, with titles such as data warehouse architect, and data-mining. The Oracle 9i OCM designation is achieved by holding an OCP certification, taking two advanced DBA courses from Oracle University, and taking a two full-day long practicum exam.
Although Oracle certification paths eventually retire, you may continue to use a retired designation as it denotes the version of Oracle it is associated with. Also, Oracle normally provides a one exam upgrade to a newer version of a particular certification.
